What’s the difference between open and enclosed auto transport? Open trailers carry multiple vehicles at once and are the most affordable, widely available option, though your car is exposed to weather during transit. Enclosed trailers are fully covered, carry fewer vehicles, and are better suited to luxury, classic, or high-value cars that need extra protection.

How much does it cost to ship a car? Pricing depends on distance, time of year, vehicle size, and whether you choose open or enclosed transport. Enclosed shipping typically costs 30-50% more than open shipping because carriers transport fewer vehicles per trip.

Is my vehicle insured during shipping? Yes, all carriers are fully insured. Enclosed shipments typically carry higher liability coverage, up to $500,000 in some cases, given the value of the vehicles they transport. Additional coverage is available on request.

When is the cheapest time to ship a car? Shipping mid-month and during the winter, outside of extreme weather, tends to be cheaper than peak season or holiday periods, when demand on carriers is highest.

How do I prepare my car for shipping? Wash the vehicle inside and out, remove personal belongings and toll tags, disable the alarm, provide a spare key, check for leaks or low tire pressure, and photograph the vehicle’s condition before pickup.
